Items Needed:
1- Alignment Stick (https://amzn.to/4iDh7TO)
2- Range Balls
3- Wedges
Setup:
1- Pick a target on the range
2- Aim Alignment stick at target
Drill:
1- Take your 3 shortest clubs. (For me it’s 50, 54, and 58*)
2- Figure out your full distance with each of the 3 clubs. Mine are:
50* = 120 yards
54* = 110 yards
58* = 100 yards
3- Figure out how to get 1/2 that distance. For me if my backswing goes to my trail hip, my distance will be half the full distance
4- Figure out how to get 1/2 of that distance again. For me if my backswing goes to my trail quadricep, my distance will be half the half distance, or 1/4 the full distance.
5- Figure out how to get a distance 1/2 between your full and half distance. For me, if my lead arm goes horizontal in my back swing, that gets me 1/2 between 1/2 and full or 3/4 distance.
6- Now, with a little math, I know my distances for each of my wedges:
130 Yards = Full Swing 50*
115 Yards = Full Swing 54*
100 Yards = Full Swing 58*
95 Yards = 3/4 Swing 50*
87 Yards = 3/4 Swing 54*
75 Yards = 3/4 Swing 58*
65 Yards = 1/2 Swing 50*
58 Yards = 1/2 Swing 54*
50 Yards = 1/2 Swing 58*
33 Yards = 1/4 Swing 50*
29 Yards = 1/4 Swing 54*
25 Yards = 1/4 Swing 58*
Using 3 wedges, I can accomplish any distance from 25 yards to 120 yards with just 3 swings!!!
